The Other Day

One thing that I experienced the other day reveals the same truth we many most of the time ignore.

The day was off day and I was walking by railway line goes over the river Turag at Tongi Bazaar in Gazipur district of Bangladesh.

While I just crossed the bridge over the river I heard a long whistle. I looked back and saw an intercity train was coming.

I saw a number of times trains coming by this line crossing over the bridge. But seldom I saw any train stops beside or over the bridge.

Sudden stoppage of the train beside the south side of the bridge made me surprised at first but soon I understood it is very normal.

There may be a number of reason behind stoppage of a running train such as no or weak signal, crossing etc,.

However, I was waiting standing aside for the train to start again.

At least, I observed, about fifteen minutes the train started again and moved away from my eye sight.

While the train was moving I was trying to have a glimpse of passengers inside compartments through open windows. I noticed a hundred and thousands of people were travelling by that train.

I cannot say how many of those people felt embarrassed with this fifteen minute stoppage?

I do not know how many of them thought that they might face difficulties due to the stoppage.

But like many I also can imagine that many of the passengers felt embarrassed and for many of them many unexpected problems were created.

But to me only a single truth was revealed.

And the truth is there are a number of things in the world due to which wheel of train or any kind of vehicle can be stopped, movement of thinking, activities, program, project or whatever it is can be halted but the time never stops, movement of it never halts.

Night

WRITER
After a night of deep sleep and comfort of bed I woke up a bit earlier than many others, I thought.

I was staying in a single room at level no. 4 of Faith Tower at Birulia, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

There is a little balcony to the east of my room.  Before going to toilet I understood my mind was insisting me on going there means balcony.

I went there. By then many people have woken up. I looked down to the ground and realized activities of life for one more day has already underway.

I saw a middle aged man was paddling away his empty rickshaw van, another man, probably a guard of a factory, was enjoying smoking, vehicles were on traffic through the main road.

With the time more people would come out, activities will increase and would continue till the advent of one more night.

Night is something full of dark, silence and even stops all activities of life.

But … …not breathe.
